This letter is appropriate whether you are adopting a child within the Republic of Ireland or whether you are adopting a child from overseas. It should only be used by those who qualify for statutory adoptive leave from employment, i.e. those indivduals who are employees. This letter can also be used to notify your employer of your intention to take additional adoptive leave if required.
